What Ramadan Taught Me About Discipline And Self Control

Its 7th Ramadan in our country today.

I hope you are spending a wonderful Ramadan month.

In today’s topic, I will discuss discipline and self-control in Ramadan.

Ramadan 2026

In Ramadan, we acquire a few skills that help us develop self-control, and we begin living a more disciplined life. Some of the tiny skills you learn in Ramadan are:-

In Ramadan, we gain control over our emotions. Islam teaches us to control our bad emotions and treat every muslim in good manners.

We start building good habits in the month of Ramadan. We try to avoid following bad habits.

We can better manage time and focus on doing small tasks. In Ramadan, our daily work routine also changes. We can get more time to focus on daily work.

At evening, we can also arrange an iftar party and have a good conversation with our family members.

Our patience in Ramadan increases, and we can learn to stay calm in difficult situations.

We learn to improve our personality by doing simple daily tasks. Yesterday, I got enough time after Iftar. I enjoy reading a book, reciting the Quran, doing shave, and cleaning my room.

We try to improve our conversation skills because we don’t want to affect our Roza.

In Ramadan, several Islamic speeches are delivered. After following Islamic lectures We tend to become more focused on spirituality and kindness.

I have hens at my home. I started caring for them more this month. I am starting to value food and take more care of animals, and give them food on time.

At iftar, we have to not eat too much food. We have to control ourselves and eat in a controlled way. If we do not overeat, then we can better pray our namaz at night.

Our focus on bad emotions and desires decreases. When we avoid wasting our time, our positive energy increases, and we don’t get enough time for bad desires.

We learn to control our hunger, and it increases our sabar. Our personality becomes better, and we build stamina to do work with less energy.

Waking up daily for sehri makes us persistent, and we start doing work early at morning 🌄

In Ramadan, we give Zakat and give Iftari to deserving people.

As the office timing decreases in Ramadan. We start spending more time at home. We get enough time to organise things at home.

We try to avoid sugar-intensive foods like candies because it is bad for our liver. In Ramadan, the eating habits start changing, and our body becomes better.

Eating less can improve health. The body starts looking smart and more energetic.

In Ramadan, we start giving more respect to teachers.

We start getting calmer in our behaviour. We treat other people in good manners.

After fasting for a month, we get habits of waking up early in the morning.

We stop avoiding missing our prayers.

Ramadan makes us more disciplined. We start learning good habits and start adding small skills in our lives daily.
